Position Overview
We’re seeking a hands-on, creative, and technically skilled e-Textile Engineer to lead the integration of NavaFlex’s cutting-edge energy solutions into smart fabrics. This role bridges advanced electronics with wearable design and is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of hardware innovation and product usability.
Key Responsibilities
Design and integrate NavaFlex’s flexible battery systems into textile platforms and wearable garments
Develop and optimize flexible circuit layouts tailored for smart clothing
Engineer miniaturized, robust, and washable electronics suitable for fabric embedding
Create and execute test protocols for performance, durability, and washability of e-textile systems
Identify and resolve integration challenges using structured problem-solving methods
Collaborate cross-functionally with textile designers, engineers, and manufacturing partners
Develop solutions for environmental protection, waterproofing, and user safety
Ensure compliance with applicable safety and reliability standards
Maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications and test results
Support IP generation and documentation of novel e-textile integration methods
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Textile Engineering
3+ years of hands-on experience in wearable electronics, smart textiles, or e-textile development
Strong understanding of flexible electronics and battery integration in textiles
Proficiency with circuit simulation/design tools (e.g., SPICE)
Practical experience with waterproofing and encapsulation techniques for electronics
Familiarity with roll-to-roll or textile manufacturing processes
Creative, solution-oriented mindset with an iterative design approach
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment

Schedule: Monday to Friday
Work Location: In person at Columbus location
